Another person's junk is...

MY TREASURE!

Ok, y'all will learn quickly that I love thrifting! I might even have a problem, but I'm not looking to get help for my addiction just yet.  "They tried to make me go to rehab, but I said no, no, NO! Haha!  While I was working on my vanity (you can find details here) I knew I would need a chair to go along with it.  So of course my first thought was not to go to Ross, Garden Ridge, Marshall Home Goods, or even Target, it was to go to a thrift store!  Duuuhhhhh!  I knew I wanted to find a chair that had a back and seat that I could reupholster with a fabric of my choice, so my first stop was a local Goodwill.  And on my first stop I was successful and found this for a whopping $5.  Yep, a chair for the same price that you could get a foot long from Subway! LOL

The chair was a little shaky when I picked it up but I figured I could just tighten the screws and it would be like new.  So once I got the chair home I of course cleaned it thoroughly and then began taking it apart.  I removed the back and the seat so I could use some spray paint to repaint it black to cover up the small imperfections.  I then went to Joann's to pick up some fabric to recover the seat and back.  I originally wanted something with the colors blue, yellow and white in maybe a paisley print, but then I saw this Chevron print fabric and fell in love.  I picked up a 1.25 yards of this fabric and it was more than enough to complete this project and I had quite a bit left over so I decided to cover up a kleenex box I got from Goodwill for $1.
I added some of the leftover rhinestones to the sides and the top and voila! The only items needed to complete both projects were fabric, scissors, and a hot glue gun.  I would have preferred to use a staple gun for the chair but I did not have one and actually my hot glue gun worked perfectly.  I still have some leftover fabric but I'm not sure what to do with it yet.  It's a pretty bold print and I don't want it to overwhelming on the vanity since it's not a huge area.  Maybe a headband, pillow cover, a DIY clutch...hmmmmmmmmm, decisions, decisions.  As always, please feel free to ask any questions below.
