Well hey there folks!
I know it's been a long time since my last post but work and family life has been super busy and plus I picked up a new hobby which I will talk about in another post. But here is a quick post about how I have been caring for baby girl's hair. When my older daughter was a baby I was not natural so I do things a little differently this time around. She is now 7 months old and I can't even believe how fast time is flying! She's "talking", rolling all over the place, grabbing any and everything she can with those busy hands, and I think practicing baby yoga haha!
She was born with a head full of hair and she still has a lot of hair, it has just gotten curlier. For about the first 3 months I only washed her hair when needed and only used coconut oil for moisture. Around this age she got a little cradle cap (which was hard to see because of all her hair) so I stepped up her moisture game. When her cradle cap was at its worse, I would basically drench her hair in oil and use a comb to remove the flakes before each shampoo. It only took a couple of washes before it was completely gone. I got this set as a gift after she was born and I actually love the "clean stuff for baby" and I use it for every shampoo. It cleans her hair, is natural, and doesn't leave her hair dry.
For the past few months I still have only been washing her hair as needed which is usually once every 2-3 weeks. To keep her hair moisturized, I either use Curls Creme Brulé or Shea Moisture Coconut and Hibiscus Curl and Style Milk. I usually just use whichever I can get my hands on first, but I prefer the Curls over the Shea Moisture milk and I only use it about once every 2-3 days. Her curl pattern is very different from mine or Amaya's and her curls get very straight when it's dry so I can always tell when it's time to remoisturize.
Here is her hair freshly washed :). Right after I wash her hair I add just a little of my shea butter mix while her hair is still wet to lock in that moisture.

Here is a picture comparison of my two girls and as you can see Khloe has much more hair that Amaya did at this age. I don't know if it's just their different hair textures or if it has something to do with their different hair care regimens. I honestly think I care better for their hair because I am natural and have a better understanding of what products to use and how to care for natural hair. But I'm going to continue with this regimen until her hair tells me it needs more (i.e. more frequent washing, oils, using conditioner, etc.).
She is still really young, so I keep her regimen really simple and try not to manipulate her hair daily so it continues to grow. I only "fix" her hair a few times a week simply because hair bows slip out of her hair after a few hours and the headbands last maybe a hour (lol) so most days she just embraces the curly fro :).
