DIY: Infant Headbands

Of course with a new baby girl on the way it's time to get back to all things girly! Bows, flowers, dresses, ruffles....exciting right??? I love the new style of headbands that I have seen for infants lately, they are so cute and styles and colors are adorable. Here are just a few I saw on etsy.com.

I just love these but of course you know I'm frugal and I can't bring myself to pay $6.50 and upwards to $18 for one headband! No ma'am!

Now I wasn't up to trying something very detailed for my first try just in case this didn't look as great as I imagined, so I kept it fairly simple. Went to my favorite store Hobby Lobby and picked up these items.

Now I had all intentions of going there to buy elastic that I would have to sew together to make it a headband. But I found these headbands for only $1.99 for 3 so I bought these instead.

The flowers already had a little felt material strip on the back so I just worked with that. I just unattached one end so I could put it on the headband to secure it. I didn't want the hot glue to be on the back where it would be on baby Khloe's head, so that's why I wanted the felt material to cover it.

And here are my 3 finished headbands!

I added small pearls inside the pink flowers just to give it a more finished look. I really like them and can't wait until she gets here to wear them. I will be looking for more headbands and elastic to make them more unique and to go with certain outfits she will have. I really want to make them more elaborate as the ones above from Etsy, especially when she is about 2-6 months old and starts coming into her own personality and is more alert.

You should give these a try, they were very easy to complete and only needed a hot glue gun and about 5 minutes. Give it a try!
