#Teamhealthyhair: DIY Homemade Deep Conditioner

Y'all know I'm all about anything DIY and when it comes to my natural hair it's no different. Since becoming natural almost three years ago, I have tried a number of products and have turned my kitchen into a hair lab more than a few times. LOL! But these days I like to keep things simple and effective. Deep conditioners are something I have struggled with since becoming natural, I just can't seem to find one that works great for my hair.  My hair craves moisture and gets dry very easily so it's important that I keep a handle on my moisture levels at all times.

My favorite natural hair YouTube vlogger is Whitney AKA Naptural85!  Although my hair texture is nothing like her hair, I love how simple her routine is and how she makes caring for natural hair really simple.  She recently posted this video about a DIY homemade deep conditioner for protein sensitive hair.  While my hair is not protein sensitive, I do have to be careful which proteins I choose to put in my hair.  Some of them make my hair really soft and some make my hair super crunchy. I haven't tried this particular mix yet, but I will be trying it since I already have majority of the ingredients at home.  And just in case you are nervous about using the banana, you can always use baby food banana as a substitute.

Happy Healthy Hair!
