Reader's Spotlight: Doc McStuffins DIY Sneakers

When I started this blog I didn't know who would find it interesting or if anyone would even care to read it, I just really wanted an outlet for my creative self :). The love, appreciation, and admiration that I receive was kind of unexpected, but very welcoming.  I thank each and every one of you for taking time out of your day to get a glimpse into my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

So today, I have a post shared from one of my reader's, Alicia, who made these awesome sneakers for her daughter!  Here is what she shared...

~ From Alicia

"I love reading your blog and getting new ideas for projects that I can do myself instead of paying someone else to do it for me. My project for my daughter, Aubree's 3rd bday was to custom-make her outfit and a lot of the decor. I found a pair of Converse All-Stars in a thrift store for $7.50. I ordered some Doc McStuffin patches from Etsy (2 for 6.99). I then went to Michael's and bought lots of ribbons, rhinestones, iron on letters, and stickers that would add some fun to the sneaker. I only bought the ones that were on sale and it didn't cost me any more than $6. I used the glue gun to glue all of the decorations to the shoe and I let my daughter pick which stickers would go where. I did the same thing for her vest and she loves it!! Here is the outcome..."

Check out Miss Aubree! She is so adorable!
I love everything about this look...the vest, the jeans, the sneakers and of course the HAIR!  If you were to see sneakers like this in the store, it would easily cost you $30+!  So, don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.  You never know what amazing things you can create and how much money you can save!
