All I wanted for Christmas....

is to go to a thrift store! LOL!  It is always interesting to go to thrift stores in different areas to see what deals you can find.  So while visiting my family over Christmas I had to go to the thrift store in Charleston, SC.  My sister, the thrifting virgin, wanted to go to see how I find such great things.  I think the hardest thing for most people when starting is to imagine the items outside of the thrift store.  Let's be honest, most things aren't clean and it's hard to look at something that is ugly, dirty, chipping, maybe broken, missing a button, etc and think of it as being something awesome.

We didn't have much time to thrift as we both had something else to do later so we only went to two stores, Community Thrift Store and Goodwill.  I didn't find anything in the Goodwill store and the system they have for sale items are totally different than what I have at home.  Here the Goodwill stores put a different color tag of clothing on sale each week and there they follow a number system for sale items on all items excluding clothing.  Since the deals weren't that great to begin with I wasn't that eager to really shop around.  But we both found great items at the Community Thrift Store.  I'm sorry I did not get pictures of her finds but she got a brand new, with tags,  pink two piece dress suit (skirt and jacket) for $18.99, a really cute skirt for $3.99 and a green dress suit (dress and jacket) for $1.99!  She really wasn't sure if she should get the suit since the price was kind of high but she always needs a pink suit and the retail price of this brand name suit would have been around $65.  So because of that I told it was a really good deal so she got it.

But here are the things I found, excuse the wrinkles, I didn't iron anything prior to taking the pictures but I will take pictures once I wear it as a complete outfit.

Talbots skirt- $1.99
I've been looking at this style of skirt for a while now and finally found this.  I love the colors, the buildings and people that are on it, and the pleats it will be perfect for Spring!
Skirt- $1.99
Loved these colors and it fits perfectly!
Skirt- $1.99
I absolutely loooovvveeeddddd this skirt when I saw it.  Loved the shape, how it falls, and especially the colors!  But after I washed it and was about to hang it up I saw these black strings hanging down (top right pic).  I think there are about 5 or 6 pairs of strings and you tie them together to create an entirely different look with a shorter skirt (bottom right).  This was such a nice find and I can't wait to wear it!
Gray blazer- $1.99
The pics does not do this blazer any justice, I love it!  It's a very soft material and the little cut out part in the back provides great shape and makes your booty look AWESOME lol! I'm thinking about pairing this with the second skirt above with a lighter gray, black, or teal colored top.
Willi Smith jacket- $1.99
My sister found this little gem and I fell in love.  Immediately made me feel like a mixture of Olivia Pope, Murder She Wrote, and Benson from SVU. Hahaha! This jacket ties at the perfect place to give you a great waist line.  It is missing the third button but I'm not worried, I know I can find something to replace it with and at $1.99 there was no way I was leaving it behind!
Dress- $2.49
This actually wasn't a find from this most recent trip but I got this from my local Salvation Army a couple weeks ago.  I forgot to take a picture (I promise I will get better with taking full outfit pics) but I actually wore this on Christmas day.  I paired it with a waist belt, a black blazer, black pattern tights, and some booties.

Any favorites?
